| What is wedding photojournalism?
It is a popular approach to wedding photography. We concentrate on quietly
taking candid photographs that capture the joy, excitement, and real meaning
of the wedding day. We often do all the posed pictures in an hour or less.
Then we stay in the background so that our clients can relax and just
be themselves.
How long do you take pictures? Are
there time limits?
We usually spend about eight hours photographing the bride getting ready,
doing portraits, covering the ceremony, and taking pictures of the reception.
Some couples hire us for longer than that. Others hire us for only a
few hours.
How many pictures will we receive?
That will depend on how many hours you ask us to take pictures and whether you hire one photographer or two. We guarantee to produce a certain number of photographs for every hour of coverage. We usually compose, fine-tune, and display several hundred images in the bride and groom's large preview album. You may order additional custom enlargements and albums.
Why don't you spend hours taking posed pictures?
Because we want you to have time to smell the flowers, to talk to your loved ones, to laugh, to cry, to dance, to have fun. We don't want you to spend half the day posing for photographs. It often takes us less than an hour to produce refreshingly casual posed pictures of the bride and groom, their families, and the wedding party.
How experienced are you?
David has been a photojournalist for over 20 years. He's done hundreds
of weddings. He has trained his associate photographers, who took
several of the pictures on this Web site.
How far in advance do you book weddings?
Couples book us from several weeks to a year in advance. If David is already booked on the day that you'll be married, he may be able to have another photographer cover your wedding on short notice.
Do you provide Internet proofing?
Yes. You and your guests may quickly view and order pictures on the Internet.
So how much does it cost?
Our charges range from a few hundred dollars to $2,500. Our fee will be based on how many hours you ask us to take pictures, where you will be married, whether you want one photographer or two, whether or not you want a Web site, and whether or not you order a preview album. After you tell us about your wedding, we will send you pricing information.
Can you provide references?
Yes. We can give you the names of clients and professional photographers
who recommend us.
We haven't chosen a wedding photographer yet. Do you have any advice for us?
Long after your gown has been stored away, your photos will remain to
help you remember the special love you shared on your wedding day. So
please hire a professional photographer. Don't ask a friend who "takes
good pictures" to photograph your wedding. Trust your once-in-a-lifetime
memories to an experienced, imaginative photographer. Hire a professional
who has done lots of weddings.
